Perfect B&B. Room is very nice and the owner, Duncan, is a charming person. Very good breakfast. 10 minutes walk to the uni. 20 minutes by bus to the city centre.

Excellent guest house! My room was very nicely decorated with pictures from Loch Lomond, after which it is named. There was an electric kettle, teebags, and Scottish shortbread. The bathroom was clean and it had a hairdrier installed. Only the shower was a bit difficult to use since there were several buttons with strange symbols. The breakfast room is decorated with tartan and other traditional Scottish items. There was a buffet with cereals and fruits, and everything else could be ordered from the hosts, Duncan and Elaine. They are very friendly and entertained me with small talk and funny stories, without bothering me. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay and I recommend the Glendale Guest House to everyone visiting Edinburgh.

Duncan and Elaine are the best host you could wish for; happy, welcoming, lovely and helpful. Their guest house is beautiful, and each room is great - it's off the beaten track, in a quiet area, but you are easily in the city centre with a 30min walk or a short bus ride, in fact there are plenty of buses going to the centre from the bus stop around the corner. Ah, and make sure you don't miss the energetic and tasty breakfast in a beautiful, glorious room kissed by the sun every morning.

Duncan was an amazing host, very welcoming and helpful. We had an excellent time at the guest house which was in a quiet area, 30 minutes away from the city center by foot and 15 minutes when taking the bus. Our room was spacious and tidy and the breakfast was also great in the well lit dining room. Parking was available for our car. The house had a homely charm and, well, we must mention the chief mouser of Glendale, Blue, who also welcomed us in the mornings. ⬛

Duncan and Elaine are amazing hosts. I had enjoyable conversation with Duncan over breakfast and it was a lovely experience. The breakfast tastes great and the room is clean and comfortable. It is very convenient to go to the mall/coffee shops and the bus stops are 1 minute walk away. Walkable distance to University of Edinburgh campus as well.

We enjoyed our stay at the lovely B&B very much! Duncan and Elaine were the best hosts one could ever ask for - friendly, warm and hospitable! The breakfast was cooked by Elaine and Duncan would personally meet and greet every single guests and make everyone feel at home! The room was lovely, beds were comfortable and Blue (the owner’s cat) was there to greet us every day after breakfast! The B&B is slightly out of the city centre but there’s direct buses that reaches the city in less than 15 mins. There’s a shopping mall across the street for everyday needs. We would love to be back one day!

My son and I had a fabulous week here. Duncan was a legend and went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. The breakfasts were fantastic and gave us a chance to have some great yarns with Duncan. Thank you so much for your kindness, helpfulness and laughs (even if most of them were over my saying ‘yes’ in my kiwi accent). Ma te wa (see you again).
